Quite a good selection of books for a reasonable price, the service itself is great. However, the app has some bugs and lacks landscape mode for whatever reason. The app will also send nagging notifications when you cancel your subscription, which I do not approve of at all. I already told you why I cancelled in the feedback form, no need to keep asking.

It is much better than the other services that I tried like scribed and Audible. With 10 dollar subscription, I can read as much books as humanely possible. However, many books that I wanted to read aren't available in my region. It's annoying to see them being suggested to me. If a book isn't available in my region, it's better not to show it to me at all. Other than that, it's a very good app and I see myself subscriping again soon, once I get out of my reading slump.

I'm still in my trial period and I would have bought this for sure with the initial impression. But the following two points made me to not do it. 1. There is no chapter wise split. For example, I could be reading a book and then would want to switch to audio during commutes or other times when I cant read but listen. In such cases if I've to find the place where I need to start it's pretty difficult. You need to keep on forwarding and backward until you find the place which takes almost most of the time. 2. The app just can't preserve the last heard place. Whenever I stop listening and want to pick it at end of the day, the audio would be gone so long back. Knowing that I would just sometimes close the app as it would take forever to find the previous place as it doesn't even have chapters.. It's like a lengthy audio with no markings to find things. I'll buy if once these are fixed.

I'm paying for a subscription but it doesnt let me listen to books and it wants me to pay again...i guess i should've just gone to audible and not have wasted my money on a new and promising app -Update Best App Ever.

It's a really good app, easy to navigate and user friendly. I especially like that once you pay the monthly fee, all books are available to you. No need to add funds for a second book. The quality of the recordings are very professional and nicely done. The library consists of both Audiobooks and readable books, or both simultaneously for some books. The audioplayer itself is easy to use, has a sleep mode, speach faster/slower, saves bookmarks. Books available in english, norwegian and Swedish.

I'm giving the app 2 stars instead of 1, because it has a good selection of books. The app itself is a nightmare with many bugs. If I pause the book, the app soon freezes up, and I must restart it twice to get back to where I was again. The app also freezes if it's not in the top window, or if the screen times out. Basically I have to keep the screen on by clicking it, to keep listening to the book. Which is a real nuisance if I just want to lay down and listen. Hope these bugs gets fixed soon.

If you would've asked me a few months ago I would've vividly recommended the app and given it 5 stars because it has a great selection and a lovely mix of Swedish and English literature. However, there have been updates lately and instead of solving the issue that you cannot see and skip chapters in the books (available in other apps), it just gave it a slightly more modern look and blocked half the books because I'm not in the correct geographical area. It also requires quite a bit of battery power, which is not always practical when traveling. However, the biggest issue is the recent geographical limitations. I specifically chose Storytel.se because of its choice in both Swedish and English literature and now it's becoming more limited! I acquired their e-reader a few months ago and really enjoy it, but it can be used only with their subscription and I am starting to regret my purchase now that I have less choice in my books. There should be some regulation that a subscription to the Swedish Storytel gives rights to the Swedish books. How else can Swedes abroad get access to their literature? I'm sorry Storytel, I'm a real fan but you need to do something about this.

Installed it because I saw an ad and got curious, but it's a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. It doesn't allow you to listen to literally anything, even a sample, without paid subscription. They offer a free trail for 3 days, but requires Credit Card access, as a first time user that has no clue about content quality or the app, why on earth would I bother?! They also have Help center option in the settings menu, but it doesn't even work, I kept tapping, tried restarting app, but with no luck.

I'm really happy with the app, and think that subscription is a good investment. I'd only add a table of contents so listeners could find chapters and concepts easily. Other features could be customize the lapses of time a listener could go back or forward on the book, as of now, you can only do this on 15 seconds jumps. Maybe in the future the possibility to have transcripts in the audio books or the option to do searches by words inside a book. Apart from that, I really recommend it.
