The latest interation of this app has completely broken it. It doesnt even crash, it just does not work. It does not tell me the actual temperature, I can't set a new temperature, or shut down from the app. I can't change the timer or probe alarm and it will not run a recipe correctly. Annoyingly I constantly get the probe has fallen out alarm when that hasn't happened. The old app worked fine for like 2 years just fine, now it is completely useless. Edit: what happened to the pellet monitor?

It works well except when the app crashes. New grill? Let it update for a few hours. Be patient. It's worth it. I love being able to check it while away. It's getting better all of the time. Comments about connectivity and being a horrible app are not within my experience. Still, it crashes...and you can just close it and reopen the app.

New owner, and my experience with your app/setup so far is HORRIBLE. It has shaken my confidence in Traeger as a company, and I'm VERY unlikely to recommend the brand to my friends. The app crashes every couple of minutes. Your app setup is awful: it doesn't say WHAT IS WRONG with the password used (apparently, "-" isn't a "special character!) It was a hair-pulling experience to figure it out and get in. THEN the app crashes every few minutes during grill setup -- one being between it getting my WiFi SSID and getting the password for it, and now I'm stuck: can't reset it, can't continue. Did I mention my experience so far is HORRIBLE? I'm about ready to call the dealer and ask to return the damned thing. GREAT job, guys.

It's good that the grill works without this. I spent extra for features that include WiFire, but it's extremely frustrating to use, and can be difficult to get working at all! Some of my issues could be the fault of the control unit, so I'll just talk about the app. Poor user interface. You don't receive notifications about timers or temperatures while your screen is off. Typos and inconsistencies in the recipes. Support page instructions do not match the app. This is with a Galaxy S8.

WiFire is garbage I work in extremely detailed tech industry, and know how to connect wifi devices and Bluetooth devices in my sleep. The app is the issue. It enters an infinite loop. As soon as you nickname the grill, which shows it is connected to WiFi just fine, the app acts as if you are starting the connect process from scratch again. Tried no less than 8 devices, and tried multiple networks. App is garbage.

I love my Traeger smoker and was super excited to get the app but..... This app sucks. 1. Installed when I had a Galaxy S8 and it didn't work but that phone old. Got a new s23 two days and couldn't wait to set it. Still won't connect to my Traeger. I've gotten much further in the process than before only to get the message unable to connect

The previous versions of the app was OK, but since it changed about 8mo ago its been nothing but a headache. The app will not update current Temps from the smoker or grill. It used to have a uniqu notification sound, now it defaults to the notification sound I have set for my phone. Which it too subtle and quite. When I hit temp, timer has expired or pellets are running low, I need to hear that. Sure, I could change my phone default sound, but who wants to jump at every app notification?

Love the concept and the recipe features but it is so inconsistent in connecting. The app constantly doesn't recognize your grill until you force quit and reconnect. The new update doesn't have anywhere to access your favorites, at least that I can find, so you need to look up the recipe over and over. Half the time the recipe database doesn't even load. Love my grill, hate the app. It's extremely frustrating. They really need to retool this.

App could be a lot better. Took a while to connect the app and grill, but when I finally did it worked great. Now it's not connecting anymore. Traeger needs to get on the ball and correct this if they plan on pushing the WiFire as a great feature. The available recipes are great and are easy to search which makes the app still somewhat useful.
