It's convenient if you're on a budget, but there's some really big issues. Lots of the vans have problems like no air or poor shock absorption (The latter's awful if you're prone to car sickness) Additionally, they're very, very understaffed, meaning that not only are drivers exhausted, but riders will often have to wait upwards of twenty minutes to be picked up, not even counting the frequent delays.

Great app, GPS works perfectly fine, driver arrives to pick up point exactly when the current time estimate says. There was no error messages that popped up, I was able to add a payment method and book both my rides with ease. Very affordable too! I think the patrons can be the biggest con. A lady wasted 15 minutes of ours because she got the driver to constantly drive around until he found her, she was no where near the pick up point.

Very disappointing. My old account got paused bc it said I didn't pay (which I did) the old app was so much better. Now they want to drop me off in the middle of the road. I've almost been hit by a car plenty of tines and on top of that when I ask the drivers to drop me off where I was supposed to be they try to argue with me. The old app was so much better and I wish it was how it used to be bc is sucks now. To unfreeze my account I contacted customer service and they didn't even help me.

VIA Pass used to be a good value, not anymore. The allowed maximum fare each way with the $139 monthly pass used to be enough to cover my commute base fare, except for the occasional rain storm or crazy traffic day. Recently every single ride requires overage charges. So instead of raising the price of the pass, like they have done before, it seems they are raising the price by making each ride more expensive so you have to pay extra every time. What used to cost me $7/day to get to and from work ($139/20) now is costing me $10-11/day. Of course you are already committed to the pass, so you dont want to pay for other transportation at that point if the app fails, the wait is ridiculous or it charges you more. That is just not affordable anymore and not worth it to take Via over the CTa anymore. This will be my last monthly pass after 10 months.

App keeps trying to take me to a different location whenever I confirm a ride. This has caused me to be late or find a different mode of transport that I prefer not to do. When ordering a ride, it would be helpful to have the destination address on screen while waiting for the ride+in the ride. In order to prevent confusion from me and the driver. I have been declined rides before because the destination address was wrong, and therefore the driver couldn't do anything about it.

Not frequent service. Their ETA are not followed often. Not enough cars at their disposal, circulating around the city. The drivers doing whatever they please. The app changes your pick up and drop of location randomly. Service not extended over relevant part of the city. Terrible customer support, they got no assistance for you. Only plus side, only a $1.50 per ride.

Yesterday was my first time using this app. I really don't like the app. Going to the North County metro bus station, the app told the driver to let me off on the side of the road. That's dangerous. She couldn't go inside and loop around? Also the app doesn't take you from North County bus station to Shrewsbury. That's reasonable! Metro knows that the busses are always on time. If they show up at all. That needs to be fixed.

Unbelievably unreliable. I only use this app because it is the only one I can pay my pretax commuter benefits into right now due to covid closing down shared rides with Uber, Lyft. You have to not care at all about when you arrive at your destination to make it worthwhile. I will call my Via 20+ minutes before I need to leave, get assigned a car that is reliably at least 10-15 minutes away, then in the last 2-3 have the ride canceled. Garbage. Cost me $$$$$ in last minute Ubers.

Very very very frustrating operation. I was so excited for my 1st ride from laquadia airport. Just to find myself after waiting on customers as required to find myself being told i had to get out of empty van while a frustrated customer on drivers phone complaining. Today I'm on my second trip with Via. Once again the gps system is backwards. He takes driver to next pick up but confirms its my destination drop off. App not letting poor driver correct the info. I have a appt .am disabled. :(
