I am heart broken. Thus app. Was simple to use and a dream come True, but they announced they are shutting down . They want use to move to the YouTube music app. and with a premium account we can play in the background. I have a premium account but this app. will not play in the background. So when the screen goes asleep. It stops playing. I call YouTube and they say after about 20 minutes of do this or that, it works if I am at home?! This did not happen with the Google app.

When a big company doesn't give a damn, making an unpractical and unintuitive app that has a well hidden default setting deleting some old downloaded episodes. No warning, of course because who cares? This app will soon disappear to "merge" with YT Music. Needless to say, not a single dime will be spent over there, the app has already been sent to the "oubliettes". Farewell and good riddance. There are some great alternatives out there.

This app is simple to use and does everything I want in a podcast app. I'm not moving to YouTube music and it's frustrating that Google can't figure out how to support a stand alone podcast app that is just clean and basic. I don't want an app that does "everything" I want an app that I can easily listen to podcasts on and from what I have heard that is not YouTube Music.

This WAS the best podcast app i could find. Now they're getting rid of it and moving to YouTube Music, since Google couldn't possibly afford to keep a service alive too long. I loved it so much I'd use it on iOS too. Now it seems like using an iPhone just for Apple's integrated podcasts app is the next best option. But hey it's April 3rd and I'm somehow still able to use this app so whatever Ima enjoy it til it dies for good.

Look, it does the job. But. If you happen to skip using it for a couple of weeks, it completely forgets everything you've ever done. If you're part-way through an episode, you'll find yourself back at the beginning. And good luck remembering which episodes you've watched in a podcast because it will have forgotten that you've ever listened to a single one. Surely this basic data can't be too difficult to retain. Long story short: going to be using a different app from now on.

Why is this going away? Still one of the best apps for podcasts. Clean and simple. While I understand wanting to merge everything to the YouTube music app so we can be just like Spotify, it sucks. The YouTube Music app is horrible for podcasts and still not ready, so why? I don't need a save for later button for podcasts like YT music has.

I love this app and I think it's a shame Google is ending it. I started using it as my primary podcast app around March 2020. I loved how I could search a guest name on one podcast and then find all podcasts they were interviewed on which would lead me to finding more interesting shows I would otherwise not have found. YT Music is clunky and doesn't have the same features. Please don't get rid of this app!

I transferred my subs to YouTube Music, yet I've been using this app the whole time. So when Google Podcasts is no longer available, I still won't use YTM. I just tried it again since 2 months ago & still has the same tedious problems. With GP I could pick the option to sort the episode lists "oldest to newest" & hide completed episodes. YTM doesn't mark or hide completed episodes & keeps setting them "newest to oldest." I'll be using a 3rd party app that I manually entered my subs in. Thanks
