AVG came installed on my Sony phone. I was familiar with AVG, as for many years before, I had been using them on my PC, back when I still ran one. For a free application, AVG does a good job. I would recommend AVG and state that the paid version (of which I had a free trial period for a year) is even better. Thanks AVG

Really bad app if you are not a premium user. On android it is really hard to get viruses if you only download from trusted sources like the google play store so that option is pretty useless. RAM boost you can do yourself by canceling background processes and closing apps. What I hate the most is that this app usses more bacground space than all my apps combined and it is slowing down my phone quite a lot. I did not try the premium because of the bad experiance in the free version

AVG has been great, but I'm really not happy with the TikTok ad they carry which appeared after reviewing their "see what we found" notification and me pressing "Next". The ad was not muted, there was no visible X to close it and each time I tried to swipe to get the on-screen back button it took me to Play Store to download TikTok! Had to kill the app in the end. Totally underhand advertising methods. Definitely won't be looking at what "AVG has found" again. The start of some AVG mistrust...

Notifications no longer removable after update. Theres no way to dismiss, clear from history, or otherwise get rid of ongoing useless notifications stuck on home screen & notification tray (like AVG *still* has you covered...24/7... !!) even after theyre read. Unless you reboot. Feel bad giving it 1 star despite otherwise decent performance but "contact support" is just a subscribe link & this "feature" makes it almost unusable. Thx David: settings are correct, notifications cant be dismissed.

I had no problems for the first 8 or so months that i have used the "Pro" version of this app that is included with my phone's package. To be blunt do not use the e-mail contact to report by, instead open the menu tap help/support > then tap FAQ 5 times for a direct link to report via. Otherwise your taking your chances w/an overseas entity that constists of those who really just don't care to be of any relivent help!

Absolutely ridiculous amount of adverts that take over the app. Fill half the screen and hides the real purpose of this app. I appreciate that it's only on the free version, but it doesn't need to be this imposing. It just takes over and makes it nearly impossible to see what's going on. Unfortunately it was preinstalled on.my phone and cant remove it. Dont see why i should pay for something to get rid of adverts when i didnt ask for it in the first place

Out of all the free virus protection apps that I have tried over the years, AVG is by far the best! It's easy to use and does exactly what it says that it's supposed to do! The only thing that I wish that they would not have changed was the automatic scan. It used to be included in the free version, but they changed it some time back, so now you only get it with the paid version.

I paid for the ability to lock apps, but found out it can't be enabled without screen overlay which makes it useless. CM Security offers app lock without screen overlay. I want my money back. Edit: New version is not even working. Stuck on loading screen. Just a moment. The update is almost complete. Good bye.
