The fing app is brilliant on it own but when used with their fing box it is even more so! I can keep tabs on every device on my network be it wired or wireless, I can block devices permanently, temporarily or schedule blocked times - great if you have kids! I can also wake on LAN which is handy for turning my server on from downstairs (lazy I know!), Ping tests and trace routes are also available. It also alerts me when a new device has connected to my network and gives you the option to auto block everyone's device or manually block. There are many more features that I don't have time to put here. If you have a network and want to control what goes on then get this app and the fing box

App does not save edited names and types. After refresh all names are gone and some devices identified as wrong type. For example, smart watch identified as media player. I spent a lot of time renaming 34 devices and all gone. Also, I have 2 routers in my home, 2nd one configured as access point with different ssid. App shows that most devices connected to both routers! How is it possible? Routers itself shows the real picture who is the connected client and it is different from what I see here

This app used to work great but the quality dropped after the addition of fing desktop. After setting up the desktop app, the mobile app became useless by no longer performing device scans. Devices that I'm certain are online (by navigating directly to the IP) don't show in the list and the list never refreshes, just shows an outdated network status. Fing desktop for Mac was also a disappointment, I wonder if the mobile app would have kept working if I never installed the desktop app.

Fing was once my "go to" app for quick identification of network devices. I was willing to tolerate the ads because I didn't use it frequently. However, with Android 10 the app no longer works and has been exposed as overreaching in its permissions scope. Uninstalled and will no longer be using. Fing "Limited" is certainly the right name for this company. R.I.P. Posting in hopes of warning other potential users.

Was great but now just a mess. I have switched to WiFiMan & uninstalled fing after the app gets slower and more cluttered with each update. it now keeps nagging me to sub to premium every time I navigate the menu. I've been happy with fing for years but now its time to move on. If you want a clean, usuable WiFi analyser then check out WiFiMan from Ubiquiti

I was going to buy the premium version because I like this app and the ads are annoying. But then I realized you can't buy it. You can only "subscribe" to an auto renewing subscription. Screw that. Uninstalling and finding a replacement that I can pay for ONCE. Goodbye Fing it was good while it lasted. ---------- Update for developer response: I would never "subscribe" to any piece of software. PERIOD. Pay over and over and over No Thanks. It took me all of 10 seconds to find a suitable alternative. It does more than your app does, has been updated and supported for years and better still, because the developer isn't a greedy prick, one payment of $4 and it's yours forever.

cannot save edited name (mobile), not accurate presence, offline devices shown online or vice versa (mobile/desktop version), I have to recheck via pinging to make sure. Bad

For me, this is a must have app, when I dont have a linux box handy. nmap inspired LAN scan, host ping, port scan and speed test.
