Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour, their popular racing game, will no longer receive any new content after the upcoming October 4th update. In an in-game message, the developers informed players that the game will no longer see any additions or updates starting next month.

Previously, Nintendo regularly introduced new drivers, carts, and tracks with each update for Mario Kart Tour. The game, released in 2019, aimed to bring the beloved Mario Kart series to mobile platforms and gained substantial popularity among fans. Unfortunately, the discontinuation of new content suggests a shift in focus, possibly towards the development of Mario Kart 9.
The in-game message stated, "From 10/04/2023 (Wed) on, tours will consist of content from tours that have appeared before. No new courses, drivers, karts, or gliders will be added following the Battle Tour beginning 10/04/2023 (Wed). We hope you continue to enjoy playing Mario Kart Tour."
Despite the end of content updates, the game will still be available for download on Google Play and the Apple Store. Mario Kart Tour provided fans with an array of fresh content, including over 50 tracks since its launch, with more than 40 based on real-world locations like New York, Tokyo, Berlin, and Paris.
